Our Story
Waylon’s Place was created with a simple vision in mind: to be a place where good food, warm hospitality, and a relaxed atmosphere come together.
Located along the river in Townsend, Tennessee, Waylon’s Place was born from owner Keith Freant’s lifelong appreciation for mom-and-pop restaurants and the sense of comfort they provide. From an early age, Keith found himself drawn to small, local eateries, not just for the food, but for the feeling of connection they created. Those early experiences planted the seed for what would eventually become Waylon’s Place.
The restaurant is named after Keith and his wife Shawna’s son, Waylon… a name that carries deep personal meaning and reflects the heart behind the business. Family, faith, and community are woven into everything here, from the welcoming atmosphere to the care put into every meal.
Rather than focusing on one signature dish, Waylon’s Place offers a menu full of homemade favorites and country classics served throughout the day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all crafted to feel familiar, satisfying, and comforting. In the evenings, the restaurant often comes alive with music, bringing an added sense of energy and togetherness.
At its core, Waylon’s Place is meant to be more than just a restaurant. It’s a gathering spot for locals, visitors, families, and friends. It’s a place where people can relax, enjoy a good meal, and feel right at home. We can’t wait to see you!
